Residential Treatment Program

Waterford Country School’s Residential Treatment Program provides a spectrum of therapeutic services to children and youth throughout the State of Connecticut who cannot remain in their communities because of family issues, trauma, abuse, or serious behavioral problems.

The Residential Treatment Program provides services to boys and girls aged 12 to 21. The length of a young person’s stay depends on each individual but is typically six to nine months.

Residential Life

The Residential Treatment Program has two cottages
in a peaceful country setting where residents live in
private and semi-private rooms. Campus life includes:

  • Dining room, kitchen, common area in each cottage for
    meals and meetings
  • 27/7 child care worker staff support
  • Low resident/staff ratio
  • On site nursing & medical care
  • Therapeutic animal interaction
  • Art & recreational opportunities
  • A Challenge Ropes Course
  • A Children’s Farm & Nature Center
  • Day trips & local activities
