The Waterford Country School Children’s Mental Health Clinic treats trauma (TF-CBT therapy and 3-5-7 models) as well as the behavioral, emotional, and mental health issues of children ages 3-18. Individual and family therapy are provided. Psychiatric consult can be arranged for psychotropic medication needs. The Children’s Mental Health Clinic provides compassionate, family-focused care to families in our community. We can help you explore what your children or family needs to connect, grow and thrive.
WCS is a network participant for Anthem, United Healthcare, Connecticare and Husky health insurance.
We also have the ability to bill for many insurances out of network – please ask us to research
your family’s policy.

The Waterford Country School Children’s Mental Health Clinic is dedicated to providing personalized services to you and your family. We are a group of skilled, caring professionals who approach every child and family with respect, compassion and a willingness to listen. Our experienced therapists carry small caseloads so that you and your child get the attention and thoughtful approach that you deserve.
Who does the clinic serve?
Children ages 3-18 (and their families) who have Husky, Anthem, United Healthcare or Connecticare insurance.
What types of issues are addressed?
Common behavioral, emotional and mental health issues of childhood. These include all common psychiatric diagnoses and disorders of childhood such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc, as well as anger management difficulties, problems with attachment and familial challenges; issues with behaviors; trauma (both specific incidents as well as long term traumatic experiences); and problems with social skills and self esteem.
How do I make an appointment for my child?
Contact us at 860-886-7500. After referral information is taken, the child will be matched to an appropriate and available therapist as soon as possible. If we are unable to accommodate your child’s particular needs we will refer you to an appropriate provider in the area.
